Philosophers were individuals who developed systems of ideas about reality. Most beings in the galaxy assumed that all Ithorians were peaceful gardeners who engaged in contemplative philosophy. Sio Bibble, the Governor of Naboo under Queen Amidala, was a philosopher. Braata Danlos, Faya Rodemos, Sistros Nevet, and Yanjon Zelmar were the four ancient Four Sages of Dwartii, controversial philosophers-lawgivers from the early days of the Galactic Republic. According to Grand Admiral Thrawn of the Imperial Navy, it was important to understand an enemy's philosophy to defeat them.
