The Phu system[4] was located in the regions known as the Colonies[1] and the Interior.[2] It was situated in grid square J-13 of the Standard Galactic Grid and contained[1] the world Phu.[3]

At some point, Phu was colonized by members of the Bardottan species from the planet Bardotta.[3] In 22 BBY,[5] during the Clone Wars, a battle was fought in the Phu system between a Galactic Republic task force and the Separatist Subjugator-class heavy cruiser Malevolence under the command of General Grievous, which saw the Republic forces destroyed.[4]

Behind the scenes[]

The Phu system was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in the forty-third issue of De Agostini's Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon magazine,[4] published around October 28, 2015.[6] The system was originally introduced in the Star Wars Legends continuity via map placement in the 2000 reference book Inside the Worlds of Star Wars: Episode I by Kristin Lund.[7] It was later identified by name upon its first appearance in The Clone Wars: Shakedown,[8] authored by Pablo Hidalgo as the second issue of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars webcomics series[9] and published on October 2, 2008.[10]
