Plastoid was a type of material used in armor.
History[]
Clone trooper armor consisted of a set of form-fitting plastoid plates worn over a black body glove.[1] The armor was vulnerable to direct blaster fire. Plastoid was used in the construction of certain Separatist droids. Stormtrooper armor was made of a plastoid composite that was impervious to chemical warfare. Therefore, it featured an air filter in the helmet and a built in oxygen tank.[2]
The armor worn by Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader used plastoid. Vader's girdle was made from plastoid.[3] When Luke Skywalker burned Vader's armor on Endor,[4] only the charred and twisted remains of the partially molten helmet,[5] were left behind.[4]
Plastoid armor was worn by Ap'lek, a member of the Knights of Ren.[6]
