"Soon as we're done here, we head back to the Ash Worlds."
―Saw Gerrera[1]

Po'yin was a celestial body that had a valuable red water. When it was occupied by the Galactic Empire[1] around 19 BBY,[2] the red water became a rare and sought-after, especially to those from Po'yin. Several weeks before the attack on Eyo-Dajuritz, the Onderonian Saw Gerrera and his rebel Partisans made a deal with a group from Po'yin to trade them red water stolen from their homeworld.[1]

Shortly after the attack, Gerrera and the freedom fighters Vorgorath and Rynark arrived at a salt-filled smoke den at Po'yin with casks of the water, looking to trade them in exchange for weapons and credits. When they were alerted of an attack on the planet Coruscant involving their former associate Soujen Vak-Nhalis, Gerrera told Vorgorath to prepare their starship, the Dalgo, so they could soon leave Po'yin and return to the Ash Worlds.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Po'yin appeared in the 2025 novel Reign of the Empire: The Mask of Fear, written by Alexander Freed as the first installment of the Star Wars: Reign of the Empire trilogy.[1]

  2. The events of Reign of the Empire: The Mask of Fear begin weeks after the events of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and span no more than a few months. As the events of Revenge of the Sith are dated to 19 BBY by Star Wars: Timelines, The Mask of Fear must be set around that year.
