"Poe Dameron's theme " was composed and conducted by John Williams for the 2015 film Star Wars : Episode VII The Force Awakens I Can Fly Anything ,"[1] musical score functions as the leitmotif for Poe Dameron , one of the central characters of the sequel trilogy .[3] [4]
The track first plays when Dameron and Finn escape from the Resurgent -class Star DestroyerFinalizer The Force Awakens . Dameron's leitmotif plays again when Finn witnesses his piloting at the Battle of Takodana , and at the end of the film, in "Farewell and the Trip," when the Resistance escapes from the destruction of Starkiller Base . A version of the motif plays during the end credits suite, paired with the chase motif representing Finn.[3]
