- "Subject identified as Duchess Satine Kryze."
- ―A police probe
The police probe was a type of hovering cam droid used by the Coruscant Security Force to assist in policing the Galactic Republic's capital planet of Coruscant during the Clone Wars. One probe was present after Davu Golec of the Republic Ministry of Intelligence was killed by an assassin. Seeing only Duchess Satine Kryze of Mandalore at the scene, the probe assumed that she had been the murderer. After informing other CSF forces of the situation, the probe initiated a police chase, though the Duchess eventually escaped the area.
Description[]
The Coruscant Security Force's police probe[2] was a specialized model of cam droid used to search for suspected criminals in the lower levels of the planet Coruscant.[1] Painted in a blue-gray paint scheme, it had an overall ellipsoid body of two bowl-shaped halves joined together with a recessed trench in the middle. On top were lights housed in truncated, conical projections, one of which was blue and the other red. On the front were two photoreceptors that projected from conical housings, as did a camera. The droid had a siren, an antenna, was able to make transmissions, and was also able to speak Basic in a masculine voice.[2]
History[]
On Coruscant,[2] around the year 21 BBY,[3] during a secret meeting between Davu Golec of the Republic Ministry of Intelligence and Duchess Satine Kryze of Mandalore, an assassin of the Mandalorian terrorist group Death Watch killed Golec with a blaster rifle. A probe heard the shot and responded to the scene. Seeing only Duchess Kryze, the probe assumed she had killed Golec. The Duchess fled the scene, and the probe, after informing nearby security forces of the situation, followed after her with CSF police droids and Coruscant Guard shock troopers joining the chase. The Duchess disabled the probe with a deactivator pistol and was able to get away. Later, she surrendered to the Senate Guard, and her name was cleared.[2]
Another probe was present in Coruscant's lower market districts when the droids C-3PO and R2-D2 went there to buy jogan fruits for a cake in honor of Senator Aang.[4]
