Poltur virus was a type of virus.[1] In 228 BBY,[2] when Force-consuming Nameless creatures escaped from containment aboard the Elite-class vessel Innovator, the ship's captain, Jedi Padawan Ram Jomaram, created an anesthetic by releasing three decontaminants, including one for poltur virus, through vents in the vessel's lower decks where the Nameless were. The anesthetic caused the Nameless to drowsily amble along until they reached the ship's escape pods, allowing Jomaram to seal them inside.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
In the current Star Wars canon, poltur virus was mentioned in the 2024 junior novel The High Republic: Beware the Nameless, written by Zoraida Córdova and published as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase III.[3] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, Poltur Virus first appeared in Star Wars Galaxies: Rage of the Wookiees, a 2005 expansion for Sony Online Entertainment's 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided.[4]
