Polycarbonate was material. The handles of the M8 Combat Knives used by the Galactic Republic's clone troopers during the Clone Wars were made of flat black polycarbonate.[1] BlasTech Industries' CS14 "Ghost" light blaster pistols were made using lightweight polycarbonates and sensor-proof alloys.[3] Polycarbonate was also used in manufacturing weapons, such as the GALAAR-15 blaster carbine[4] and smoke grenade. Polycarbonate was used in various speeder parts, such as a Moll K-20 power generator, a A-7 steering system and a ion hyper accelerator.[2]
In 3 ABY,[5] it was commonly sold for seventy credits a unit by a wide variety of merchants through out the galaxy including on Toshara. Kijimi, Tatooine and Akiva.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
Polycarbonate was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in Heir to the Jedi, a 2015 novel written by Kevin Hearne.[6] It previously appeared within the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in the 2013 Star Wars: Edge of the Empire supplement Enter the Unknown, which was written by Sterling Hershey.[7] Polycarbonate later appeared as an inventory and upgrade item in the 2024 video game Star Wars Outlaws by Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft.[2]
