- ―Pons Limbic
Pons Limbic was a Siniteen male who frequnted Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina on the planet Tatooine.
Biography[]
A Force-attuned[2] Siniteen male,[1] Pons Limbic frequented Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina[5] in Mos Eisley, a spaceport city on the planet Tatooine.[6] The smuggler BoShek gave him the nickname "Brainiac" because Limbic could calculate hyperspace coordinates without the help of a navigation computer.[1]
In 0 BBY,[7] Limbic visited the cantina and sat at a table with[1] the Defel mercenary Arleil Schous,[8] the Arcona scout Hem Dazon,[9] the Advozse smuggler Bom Vimdin,[10] and the patron Braconnor Bakiska.[1]
Personality and traits[]
Limbic had a super-intelligent appearance,[11] tan skin,[3] and yellow eyes.[2]
Skills and abilities[]
The Siniteen could calculate hyperspace jumps[1] and coordinates[5] in his head, without the aid of a navigation computer. This was a worthwhile and extremely impressive skill. Limbic had high intelligence[1] and though he was Force-attuned,[2] he had low Force power.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
During production of A New Hope, the character was referred to as "Brainee," "Cranium Head" and "Crater Head."[12] It was the CCG that first gave him his nickname "Brainiac," and his true name was not revealed until the article "Cantina Roll Call: Shedding Light on Some Alien Aliases" was updated for the 2008 StarWars.com site redesign.[13]
Both the pons and the limbic system are structures within the human brain.
Brainiac is also the name of a character in the DC Universe.
