- "The side of the ship says, 'Preigo's Traveling World of Wonder.' They're a traveling carnival act."
- ―Petro
Preigo's Traveling World of Wonder also known as the Traveling World of Wonder, was a traveling intergalactic circus attraction run by the Dug circus master Preigo. The carnival was often enjoyed by Weequay pirate Hondo Ohnaka and sometimes performed for him on the planet Florrum.
Description[]
- "I, Preigo, your humble servant, have searched far and wide, oh, illustrious plunderer of the universe and found you a most special entertainment."
- ―Preigo to Hondo Ohnaka
Preigo's carnival was comprised of a troupe of entertainers constantly traveling around the galaxy. The entertainers consisted of Twi'lek acrobats, Aleena tumblers, and Gamorrean clowns.[2] Performers would wear masks modeled after various creatures including but not limited to rancors and gundarks.[1] Leader of the carnival, Dug showman Preigo, owned various creatures that would perform in the attraction[2] including narglatchs, fambaas, dalgos, and convorees.[1] To travel around the galaxy, they used[1] a YV-865 Aurore-class freighter[3] called the Gambol.[4]
History[]
- "We've got to run for it! Those blasted kids have screwed up everything up! Hondo's going to kill us."
- ―Preigo to his crew before taking off
Sometime before 20 BBY,[5] the circus performed for the pirate Hondo Ohnaka. However, displeased with one of the acts, Hondo killed everyone involved in the act.[1]
In 20 BBY, during the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and Confederacy of Independent Systems,[6] Hondo's gang had captured the Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano. While the circus was en route to Hondo's complex on the[1] planet[7] Florrum for a performance, a number of Jedi younglings came to her rescue and infiltrated the circus as acrobats, using their Force powers to perform tricks that won them positions. Their act would come to be officially known as the Animal Instincts, comprising of younglings Petro, Zatt, Gungi, Katooni, and Byph. When finally reaching the complex, the Animal Instincts got a drunken Hondo to join in on the act, giving Katooni time to steal the lightsabers of Ahsoka and free her. The group of Jedi then made their escape. Fearing that Hondo would kill him, Preigo also escaped leaving behind many of his acts.[1] The event would be known as one of the most chaotic performances in the circus' history.[4]
