Presidente was the title of the leader of the Commerce Guild,[3] a galactic trade group active during the final years of the Galactic Republic.[1] Shu Mai, a female Gossam from the planet Castell, held the title during the Clone Wars,[2] until her death at the hands of Darth Vader on Mustafar in 19 BBY.[4] During the Separatist Crisis, she used her influence as the Presidente of the Commerce Guild to ally the Guild with the Confederacy of Independent Systems and gain a seat on the Separatist Council.[5]
