Priate was the primary star of the Mustafar system in Outer Rim Territories' Atravis sector. The star system was located along the Tosste Spur trade route, 53,000 light-years away from the Core in Standard Galactic Grid L-19. It was originally orbited by the gas giants Jestefad and Lefrani and the planet Mustafar; however,[1] after the energies from the artifact known as the Bright Star altered Lefrani's orbit,[2] Mustafar became suspended in an erratic path between the immense gravitational fields of the system's two gas giants, causing the planet's devastation.[1] Later, in 19 BBY,[3] fallen Jedi Knight-turned-Sith Lord Darth Vader looked up at Priate as it became eclipsed by Lefrani.[4]
Behind the scenes[]
Priate first appeared in the 2005 prequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith.[4] In the new Star Wars canon, it was identified in the 2015 magazine Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon 17.[1]
