"Prologue to the Clone Wars and the First Battle of Geonosis" is a booklet in a series of canon reference booklets titled the Star Wars Encyclopedia. It was published on April 22, 2022.[1]
Many years in the making, Darth Sidious' plan to overthrow the Republic was none other than Senator Palpatine. Unrelated events occurred across the galaxy. They all fit together to form a puzzle that only he knew. The invasion of Naboo, the command of a clone army on Kamino, the growing unrest among some of the galactic economic powers that would lead to the creation of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the reappearance of the Sith... Even the Jedi Order was unable to connect the dots. That's why, when a contingent of Jedi and clone troopers were deployed to Geonosis to rescue Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala, no one imagined that this battle would mark the beginning of a war that would forever scar the galaxy.[1]
