QM-35 was a droid on the planet of Taris. He served as the guardian of the Tarisian Archive after the ruling members of the Taris governement froze themselves in carbonite during the orbital bombardment of the planet by Darth Malak. He would remain there for over 300 years, guarding the Archive from rakghouls and scavengers in the depths of Transport Station Five, until the Archive was rediscovered by a Republic-allied individual.
QM-35 was created some time before the Jedi Civil War by the Tarisian government. When the ruling members of the government froze themselves in carbonite to escape the Destruction of Taris, QM was charged with guarding the "Archive". QM-35 remained in the depths of Transport Station Five for 305 years until 3641 BBY, when a Republic-allied individual braved the rakghouls and found the Archive. QM told the individual about the archive, and informed them of the government's desire to thawed out when Taris was once again under Republic control. The individual would inform Wintag's assistant Tiffan Nye about the Archive, who immediately began to gather a team to reach it.
Behind the scenesEdit
QM-35 was created for Star Wars: The Old Republic, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game released by BioWare on December 20, 2011. He appears in the Republic Taris mission "The Archive", where he guards the Archive deep in Transport Station Five. QM-35 states that it has been 111,325 days since the archive was last accessed, which is equivalent to 354.54 Taris years (each of which are 314 days) or 305 real-world years. However, the destruction of Taris occurred in 3956 BBY, approximately 313 years before the events of Star Wars: The Old Republic.
During the Empire storyline, QM-35 reappears in a heroic instance, where an Imperial individual assaulted the Archive, with the intent to destroy it. Along with Ember Squad, QM-35 fought valiantly to defend the Archive, but was eventually defeated. Presumably, his remains were destroyed in the resulting explosion.
