A Taim & Bak XX-9 heavy turbolaser protected by quadanium steel plates.
Quadanium steel or Quadanium alloy was an extremely durable metallic substance. The surface of the first and second Death Stars were made of quadanium steel. The planet Despayre was a source of quadanium for the construction of the first Death Star. In addition, during the construction of the first Death Star, there were also proposals for a completely encased Quadanium steel-laden hull or a partial construction of Quadanium steel for the hull of the battlestation. Quadanium was a registered trademark within the Empire. The TIE/LN starfighter and all of its descedents were also made out of Quadanium steel.
