Quarren artisanal ink was a type of ink associated with the sentient Quarren species. It was used by members of the Hutt species in kajidic tattoos. The pirate queen Maz Kanata listed the artisanal ink as one of the smuggling cargoes that offered the most profit per kilogram in the book known as the Smuggler's Guide,[1] which she wrote by 10 BBY.[2]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

Quarren artisanal ink was first mentioned in Star Wars: Smuggler's Guide, a reference book written by Daniel Wallace and released in 2018.[1]

  1. 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.3 Star Wars: Smuggler's Guide
  2. The entry in Star Wars: Smuggler's Guide mentioning Quarren artisanal ink is placed chronologically prior to an entry written by the criminal Tobias Beckett. Solo: A Star Wars Story depicts Beckett's death on the planet Savareen, and Solo: A Star Wars Story The Official Guide dates the events on Savareen in the film to nine years after the proclamation of the New Order. As Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates the proclamation to 19 BBY, Beckett's death must occur in 10 BBY, and so his entry in the guide and those chronologically before it must all occur by 10 BBY.
