R2-C2 was an R-series astromech droid[4] who served the Hutt crime lord Ziro Desilijic Tiure at his palace on Coruscant. The droid was painted in the blue-and-grey style of droids in service to Ziro.[2]

R2-CS first appeared in Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated film,[2] released on August 15 2008.[5]
