The R2n Agromech Head was a model of agromech droid head manufactured by Industrial Automaton.[1] Often described as an inverted flowerpot, it was less graceful in appearance than the R2a Astromech Head[2] and a row of three tiny photoreceptors and sensors replaced the large radar eye found on earlier models. The R2n featured an auditory sensor, broadband antenna/receiver, electromagnetic field sensor unit, holographic projector, and infrared sensor.[3] It weighed 33 kilograms, was made from copper, plastic, and silicon carbide, and was magnetic.[1] The R2n was incorporated into the R5-series astromech droid, and existing R2n heads were reused in Industrial Automaton's line of R2-AG and R4 agromechs to recoup losses following the R5's discontinuation.[4]

Some pilots disliked the R2n on their starfighter counterparts, as it offered a larger target profile to enemy laser cannons.[3]
