The R4-P Astromech[7] was a model of R-series astromech droid[2] manufactured by Industrial Automaton.[1] It was an R4 astromech droid that could be permanently integrated[3] into the customized Jedi version[5] of the Kuat Systems Engineering Delta-7 Aethersprite-class light interceptor, allowing the starfighter to interface with KSE's Syliure-31 hyperspace docking ring.[3]

Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi's companion R4-P17 was a droid of this model.[8]

Behind the scenes[]

Despite bearing the R4 prefix, the R4-P model possessed the dome-shaped head[7] of a standard R2- or R3-series astromech droid[9] rather than the cone-shaped one of standard R4 units.[10]
