"Ready…aim…and…fire!"
"Stop, stop, stop! Krennic, stop! It was me! It was me. They have nothing to do with it. Spare them."
―Director Orson Krennic and Galen Erso, prior to the execution of Milio and his colleagues — 20?cb=20250116042720 ▶️ (file info)[2]

Rasett Milio was a human male scientist who served in the Galactic Empire's Tarkin Initiative as the administrator of its HECIL division. Milio's projects focused on the creation of containment channels and force fields in order to "sheath" energy unleashed by a superlaser into a focusing cone.[4]

Personality and traits[]

Rasett Milio had hair that had turned gray, brown eyes, and light skin.[4]

Equipment[]

While part of the Kyber crystal research team, Milio wore a blue-and-white engineering jumpsuit.[5] The jumpsuit had antiseptic coveralls, which were marked with the insignia of both the Empire and the Tarkin Initiative. His uniform had a tunic that would change colors when in the presence of dangerous radiation, and shoes grounded against potential static charges within the labs. His jumpsuit included a pocket over the chest that held code cylinders, which unlocked access to restricted laboratories.[4]

Behind the scenes[]

Rasett Milio first appeared in the 2016 Anthology film, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, in which he was portrayed by Alan Rushton. Though the film's credits refer to him as "Engineer,"[2] Milio's name was revealed in Star Wars: Rogue One: The Ultimate Visual Guide, a reference book written by Pablo Hidalgo released on the same day as the film.[4]

Notes and references[]

  1. Star Wars: Timelines places the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, including Milio's death, to 1 BBY, and the formation of the Galactic Empire to 19 BBY. Star Wars: Rogue One: The Ultimate Visual Guide establishes that the Kyber crystal research team had been conscripted by the Empire to work on Eadu for nearly 20 years by that point, meaning they must have started work around 19 BBY, the year the Empire was founded.
