The wife of Raymus Antilles lived on the planet Alderaan around 0 BBY. She had two daughters with Antilles, but raised the children for long periods of time without her husband's presence due to his dedication as a captain in service to the Rebellion. In 0 BBY, the human rebel wished to write his final, parting words to his beloved family, believing that he would die aboard the Tantive IV as the Galactic Empire pursued the rebel craft of his for the theft of the important Death Star plans.
His close collaborator Princess Leia Organa had ensured the family's wellbeing during the resistance against the Empire, yet Antilles felt sorry for having spent little time with them; however, the Tantive IV was attacked before he could write down his words. The captain was soon captured by Imperial forces and choked to death by their leader, Darth Vader, despite his and his crew's resistance. Although he knew that he would never see his wife or daughters again, Antilles, having fought to secure lives that his loved ones deserved, hoped in his final moments that the Princess would escape and help liberate the galaxy. While Alderaan was destroyed, Organa's stolen plans helped secure a rebel victory at the following Battle of Yavin, and the Rebellion toppled the Empire five years later.
