For other uses, see Raze.

Raze was a female Sith Lord[2] of the reconstituted Sith Empire who lived sometime during their conflicts with the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order.[1] Sometime between 3681 BBY and 3630 BBY,[1] Raze attempted to rescue a clan of the Empire's Mandalorian allies from a group of twenty Jedi on[2] the planet[3] Dantooine.[2]

Raze died in the fighting but was successful in slaying her opponents, and was honored by the Mandalorians with a kote ky'ram—a Mandalorian death ceremony that saw them burn her body on a pyre and spend a night in celebration of the fallen's feats.[2] By 3630 BBY,[1] Raze was the only non-Mandalorian to ever have received the honor.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

Raze was mentioned in the "Mandalorian Death Ceremony" Codex entry in Chapter XIV of Knights of the Fallen Empire, the 2015 Digital Expansion to the 2011 BioWare video game, Star Wars: The Old Republic.[2]

Notes and references[]

  1. 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.3 1.4 Star Wars: The Old Republic's "Mandalorian Death Ceremony" Codex entry states that the Sith Raze, allied with Mandalorians, died fighting Jedi on the planet Dantooine. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic establishes that Dantooine was not attacked by the Sith until the attack on Dantooine by Darth Revan's Sith Empire during the Jedi Civil War, but that empire did not ally with the Mandalorians. Thus, Raze must have been a Sith of the reconstituted Sith Empire, which did not emerge into the galaxy and fight the Jedi until the start of the Great Galactic War, which Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia dates to 3681 BBY. The "Mandalorian Death Ceremony" Codex entry is acquired in Chapter 14, a part of Game Update 4.4, which can be placed in 3630 BBY per the reasoning here. Therefore, Raze's death on Dantooine must have happened between 3681 and 3630 BBY.
