Rebel Force: Firefight is the fourth installment of the Star Wars: Rebel Force series. It was written by Alex Wheeler and was released in September 2009.

Publisher's summary[]

Deadly assassin X-7 has never failed to complete a mission--until now.

Unmasked and unarmed, he narrowly escapes from the Rebels with his life and little else. His cover may be blown, but he's not returning to Commander Rezi Soresh until his target has been eliminated. This time, he has a new plan. He'll gather six of the best pilots in the galaxy–all of them roguish mercenaries who care only about money–and turn them loose on Red Squadron.

He counts on his pilot's mercenary instincts to keep them in line. But one of them has a secret that could cost X-7 his victory.

Plot summary[]

X-7 gather mercenary pilots to target Luke Skywalker, among them Div – the new identity adopted by Lune Divinian. Meanwhile, Luke, Han and members of the Red Squadron are assigned by the Rebel Alliance to investigate reports of Imperial weapons development on Kamino. On the storm-drenched world, they find evidence of an Imperial program to genetically engineer monstrous beasts. The Rebels narrowly avoid these creatures, while Luke also avoids Div's assassination attempt. Div has a change of heart upon meeting Luke and learning of his Force sensitivity. Though he doesn't cooperate with Luke and refuses to reveal his benefactor, he nonetheless abandons his assignment to kill the young Rebel. Div is taken into Rebel custody.

Continuity[]

This story brought back Lune Divinian, now an adult. He was last seen as a child in the Last of the Jedi series. Aiwhas were repeatedly referred to as lizards in this story, even though most sources described them as whales, and therefore, mammals.[1]
