A rectenna, also called rectifying antenna,[2] sensor dish,[3] or radar dish, was a type of sensor installed on a starship that had the ability to both detect and target hostile crafts.[1]
The Millennium Falcon, a modified YT-1300 light freighter owned by the smuggler Han Solo, was equipped with a round military-grade rectenna at the time of the Galactic Civil War. However, the dish snapped off during the Battle of Endor, and Solo had to replace it with a rectangular civilian model,[4] but that one snapped off too during the Battle of Crait.[5] After the Battle of Crait, the civilian model rectenna was replaced with a round military-grade rectenna similar to the first.[6]
