"Good shot, Red Two."
―Wedge Antilles praises this pilot during the Battle of Endor[1]

This human male pilot served in the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War.[1] In 4 ABY,[2] he participated at the Battle of Endor as a member of Red Squadron, where he flew a Y-wing under the callsign Red Two.[1][3] He successfully shot down at least three TIE Interceptors, the first of which was responsible for the death of fellow squadron member Sila Kott (Red Three).[1]

Behind the scenes[]

This character appears in Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, and is addressed as "Red Two" by Wedge Antilles during the Battle of Endor. He appears to be played by the same actor as Gray Leader, a character identified as Horton Salm in other material.[1] The 2020 short story Rendezvous Point, written by Jason Fry and included in From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back, introduced a character named Keyser Salm, the younger brother of Horton Salm.[4] Fry intended for this character to be same "Red Two" seen in the film.[5]

Red Two at Endor is apparently portrayed by the same guy who plays Gray Leader. So I made them brothers. A geeky little lore thing, but there was a way to address it that helped the story I wanted to tell, so why not?"
