Redeemed Revan's Lightsaber was the personal weapon of Revan toward the end of his life.
History[]
Following Revan's failed attempt to kill the Sith Emperor,[2] the Jedi became the Emperor's captive, imprisoned in stasis for three hundred years. During the Cold War, the Republic became aware of his imprisonment due to the intervention of Meetra Surik's Force ghost, which had stayed beside Revan the entire time. A Republic strike team was sent to Taral V in order to gain access a Gree computer in order to navigate a route through the Maelstrom Nebula. They succeeded in freeing Revan.
The violet lightsaber traveled with its master to the Foundry, a massive space station located within an asteroid, which allowed it to create massive amounts of droids in a short period of time. Revan would once again use his lightsaber to fight against an Imperial strike force commanded by Darth Malgus, who ordered the capture of the station, and the death of Revan to boot. In a fierce fight, Revan appeared to have lost, but he disappeared in a flash of light before the death blow could be struck.
After returning to lead the Order of Revan which bore his name, the blade remained with the Dark Side fueled warrior until he fell for the last time to the Yavin IV strike team led by Republic and Imperial forces. Upon merging with his Light Side self and becoming whole once more, the lightsaber was left behind along with his iconic mask and robes.
Behind the scenes[]
"Jedi Knight Revan" wields a different lightsaber in Galaxy of Heroes
This lightsaber was depicted for the first time in Star Wars: The Old Republic,[3] a video game developed by BioWare and released in 2011.[4] In 2020, the lightsaber was released on Star Wars: The Old Republic Cartel Market, where it was identified with the name "Redeemed Revan's Lightsaber".[5] For The Old Republic, the lightsaber was designed by Tanner Hartman under the supervision of lead MTX artist Brad Lewis and art director Carrie Meade.[6]
In 2019,[7] the character "Darth Revan" was added to the video game Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, where he would wield this lightsaber, with an incoherent depiction: it would display four lateral ridges instead of three. Previously, another version of the character, in the form of "Jedi Knight Revan,"[8] released in 2018 within Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes,[9] is seen using another lightsaber,[8] the blade usually associated with the Sith persona of the character, while the saber used by the "Darth Revan" version of the character is usually associated with his post-Sith persona.[5]
