The Redhurne star was located in the Mid Rim Territories' once-inhabited Redhurne system. It eventually underwent a supernova that laid waste to the system. Due to radiation emitted from the star's post-supernova fragment, the cores of the system's shattered worlds became sources of materials that could be used to obtain hypermatter fuel.
Description[]
The Redhurne star was located in the inhabited Redhurne system,[3] within an intersecting portion of the Mid Rim Territories[1] and the Slice.[2] Situated in the Metatessu sector in grid square R-9 of the Standard Galactic Grid,[1] it was orbited by multiple planets and at least one moon that at some point became shattered.[3]
History[]

The star's post-supernova fragment transmuted exposed planet cores into materials that could be used for hypermatter fuel such as coaxium (pictured).
The star eventually underwent a supernova explosion that ravaged the orbiting worlds,[3] with the innermost ones being cracked open by the star's gravitational pull[4] such that at least one asteroid was formed. As a result, all traces of life and civilization that had once existed in the Redhurne system were wiped out, and all that remained of the Redhurne star was a post-supernova fragment that glowed intensely white.[3]
The collapsed star remnant emitted toxic radiation that transmuted the cores of the broken planets into exotic materials that were later used as the building blocks for hypermatter fuel[3] like coaxium.[4] Centuries after the supernova, the materials were mined during the waning days of the Galactic Republic and also went on to supply the Republic's successor, the Galactic Empire, by the time of the Galactic Civil War.[3]
Behind the scenes[]
The Redhurne star was first mentioned in the 2015 novel Battlefront: Twilight Company.[3]
