The Reegian system[1] was located in the New Territories portion[2] of the Outer Rim Territories.[1] By 2 BBY,[3] it hosted a deep space cache for an organized rebellion against the Galactic Empire that was secretly led by Senator Mon Mothma. The Reegian system was included in a map of the galaxy that listed rebel safe worlds, starfighter hubs at level five or higher, operations headquarters, shadow planets, and deep space caches. The map was sent to Mothma[1] in 2 BBY,[3] and eventually archivist Hendri Underholt archived it in the compilation of non-electronic documents known as The Rebel Files.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The Reegian system was introduced into the current Star Wars canon through the 2017 reference book Star Wars: The Rebel Files, written by Daniel Wallace.[1] Originating in the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Reegian system was first mentioned in "Extract of Minutes from the 251st Meeting of the Alliance High Command," a short companion narrative within the 1990 roleplaying supplement The Rebel Alliance Sourcebook. Written by Paul Murphy, the book was published as part of West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[4]
