Reena University was a prestigious university located on the eponymous planet. During the High Republic Era, Axel Greylark, of the powerful Greylark family, attended the university.[1] Later, a student government official at the university, Ansibella Dellu, made an advertising poster for a series of presentations done by Count Dooku.[2]
Reena University accepted students from across the galaxy into its ancient halls. Many fields of study were available for coursework, including mineralogy, theological studies, and political ideology of the Outer Rim.[1]
Extracurricular activities at the university included student government, galactic debate, numerous musical groups, and grav-ball. There was also a special festival held for the annual Queen's Bloom phenomenon. Reena University's festivities included a petting zoo of exotic creatures, food vendors, booths explaining the science behind the phenomenon, games for children, and performances from the school's musical groups.[1]
Locations in the university were numerous. The buildings were towering, made of gleaming metal and glass, and there was a large fairground on the campus. Some areas even had grounds of marble. There were at least two dormitory towers, including the east tower where Axel Greylark's dormitory was located. His dormitory had a lounge space and a window. The university had a rule prohibiting parties in the dormitories. Other locations included the lecture halls, such as the Panos Lecture Hall, a laboratory, a library, a cafeteria, an atrium, common rooms, and servants' corridors.[1]
History[]
Starting in or before 397 BBY,[3] a teenage Axel Greylark was enrolled at Reena University. It was not his preferred location for studies, but his mother, Kyong Greylark, insisted he attend a prestigious university in the Colonies. Greylark was in an accelerated studies program, and achieved top marks, second only to Lord Kozmo Sundrel IV of Luzalite. He participated in grav-ball, playing as a center striker, and was successful in galactic debate tournaments. Nevertheless, Greylark was keen to skipping class and playing pranks. Indeed, Ry Harket, dean of student life while Greylark was in attendance, grew very suspicious that the young man was responsible for several pranks, including graffitiing the atrium with lewd drawings, releasing mynocks from the laboratory, and flooding refreshers in one of the dormitories. Greylark also frequently faked illnesses to get out of classes and other responsibilities. He tried several methods, but eventually settled on using guiji fire peppers to mimic the symptoms of malongo pox. By the time of the Queen's Bloom Festival one term, Greylark had amassed 30 absences, all approved by nurse droids. This prompted an investigation by the school administration, but they found no tampering had been done to the droids.[1]
In spite of his delinquent and truant behavior, Greylark strove to make meaningful connections with other students, as well as university faculty and staff. He dutifully learned the name of every groundskeeper, cook, and adjunct professor at Reena University, taking delight in hearing their stories. At one point, he overheard a Twi'lek janitor asking the dean for an advance on his wages so he could pay for his daughter's surgery. When the dean denied the request, Greylark gave the man credits to help. This built increasingly good will between Greylark and the university staff, regardless of the consternation he caused for Harket.[1]
Axel Greylark made at least two key social relationships with other Reena University students. He developed a romantic interest in Leyli Romero, a Kilotowan girl. Greylark first noticed how she spent much time alone, and the two quickly became friends. Greylark also developed a rivalry with Kozmo Sundrel, although eventually the two became closer friends. During the Queen's Bloom phenomenon one term, Count Vennerson suggested to Lexxir Greylark that the former's daughter, who was a first year student at Reena University be introduced to Axel.[1]
Centuries later, during or prior to the Separatist Crisis, Count Dooku, leader of the Independent Movement for Self-Determination, was set to give a series of presentations in the university's Panos Lecture Hall, called the Reena University Lecture Series, for which Reena University student government official Ansibella Dellu began making an advertising poster entitled Count Dooku: Words of Truth.[2]

- ↑ The High Republic: Convergence establishes that Axel Greylark was eighteen years old thirteen years prior to its events. As Star Wars: The High Republic Character Encyclopedia dates the events of Convergence to 382 BBY, he must have been born in 413 BBY. Greylark is seventeen years old in "The Queen's Bloom," dating its events to around 396 BBY. Since the story takes place at least in his second year, he must have begun at least one year before the events of the story.
