The Reflex Amendment was a amendment to the Republic Constitution passed by the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars that increased the executive power of Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine. Given near-total power over the Republic Military, Palpatine was suddenly able to bypass the Galactic Senate in such matters. The passage of the Amendment, along with the emergency powers Palpatine had earlier been granted through the Emergency Powers Act in the lead-up to the conflict, made him the most powerful Supreme Chancellor of the Republic since the Ruusan Reformations.[1]
