Refnar was a celestial body[3] located in the Refnar system, a part of the Pakuuni sector[1] in the Slice portion of[2] the Outer Rim Territories.[1] During the early Galactic Civil War, it was the site of a Rebel Alliance base.[3] At some point by 1 BBY,[4] the Galactic Empire discovered the facility and launched an attack on it. Amid the ensuing confrontation between the Alliance and Imperial forces that became known as the "Last Stand at Refnar," most of the Rebel freighters, troop transports, and starfighters were able to escape from the Refnar system.[3]
Behind the scenes[]
Refnar was created by Ed Stark and was introduced in Cracken's Rebel Operatives, a 1994 West End Games sourcebook published for use with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[3] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Refnar system, and therefore the celestial body itself, in grid square T-6.[2]

- ↑ According to Cracken's Rebel Operatives, the Rebel Alliance did not yet utilize X-wing starfighters at the time the "Last Stand at Refnar" took place. The Essential Guide to Warfare establishes that the Alliance acquired the resources necessary to start the production of X-wing fighters a year before the Battle of Yavin, which translates to 1 BBY, according to The New Essential Chronology. Therefore, the engagement at Refnar must have occurred at some point by 1 BBY.
