A Republic recon patrol (also called a Republic exploratory patrol) was a unit of mounted clone troopers that used local planetary wildlife as their mounts. They favored the use of accurate longblasters such as the BlasTech DLT-20A blaster rifle and A280 blaster rifle since the ability to hit a foe at a great distance was highly valued in their reconnaissance missions.
