A retrovirus was an RNA virus that was duplicated in a host cell to produce DNA from its RNA genome. Darth Tenebrous invented his own retrovirus and injected it into himself to turn his midi-chlorians into maxi-chlorians.
The voxyn, a creature genetically engineered by the Yuuzhan Vong, had its paws coated in a slime layer containing hundreds of retroviruses, making a rake with the claws fatal.
