This article is about an Easter egg.

This article covers a subject that was included as an Easter egg in a Star Wars Legends source and may not have been considered canon within the Legends continuity.

Revenge of the Sith was a painting available in the galaxy that portrayed the faces of Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader, Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Senator Padmé Amidala of the planet Naboo. Jedi Masters Yoda and Mace Windu, Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Sidious,[2] and two Eta-2 Actis-class interceptors[3] were also depicted in the painting. A lightsaber duel between Skywalker and Kenobi was depicted in the center foreground.[1][2]

One of many paintings, Revenge of the Sith was most prevalent during the Galactic Civil War between the Galactic Empire and the Alliance to Restore the Republic. The painting appeared sometime after the Battle of Yavin,[1] which took place in 0 BBY[4] and was a pivotal conflict in the war.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Revenge of the Sith appeared in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided. It was a reward from the "Buddy Token" system. Players who invited others to play Star Wars Galaxies were awarded these Buddy Tokens once the people they had invited purchased the game and a subscription. One token was rewarded for each person they invited. The inviting player could then redeem the tokens for this painting and other rewards, including two other paintings and a Light Bending BARC Speeder. The painting required three Buddy Token to acquire. It could be used in one of the player's personal structures as decoration. The painting is actually a cropped version of the theatrical poster for Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, and, since it depicts an out-of-universe image, its canon status is ambiguous.[1]
