Rex's squad[3] was an overstrength squad of clone troopers of the 501st Legion commanded by Clone Captain Rex during the Battle of Umbara. The squad was used to take the Umbaran airbase, but many clones were killed in the fight towards the base, and so ARC trooper Fives and clone trooper Hardcase had to use Umbaran starfighters to take out the Umbaran forces against them.[1]

The squad was first identified in the opening narration of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars episode, "Plan of Dissent,"[3] but first appeared in the previous episode, "The General."[1]
