"Everything's here? All the tools? Full kit?"
"Eight variations. Six gauges."
―Saw Gerrera asking Wilmon Paak about the device[1]

A complicated mechanism that allowed for the extraction of Rhydonium from a pipeline. A full version had eight variations and six gauges to allow extraction for various types of pipelines.[1] In 3 BBY,[2] Wilmon Paak was sent by Luthen Rael to deliver one such device to Saw Gerrera's Partisan base on D'Qar as well as teach the device to Gerrera's group and allow them to steal Rhydonium. Instead of just teaching the specific variation that was needed for the group's planned target, Gerrera forced Paak to stay with the group until Pluti, one of the Partisans learned all the variations.[3]

Pluti eventually approached Gerrera stating that he had learned all the variations, at least in theory, but needed more practice and eventually convinced Gerrera to tell him the specific target so he could focus on practicing that variation. However before the actual heist, Gerrera learned that Pluti was a mole for the Galactic Empire and had set an ambush for them at the planned heist location. As a result Gerrera shot Pluti and the group abandoned their base, choosing to instead take Paak to the heist. There Paak successfully used the mechanism to steal an amount of Rhydonium for the group.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The mechanism appeared, though it was not identified, in "I Have Friends Everywhere," the fifth episode of the second season of the television series Andor released on Disney+[1] on April 29, 2025.[4]
