Rick, known as the Door Technician,[4] was a human[2] who served as a scout trooper in the Stormtrooper Corps of the Galactic Empire's army.[4]
Biography[]

In 9 BBY,[1] Rick was stationed as the door technician of Imperial Post 8L-055 on the planet Koboh. During[4] his[3] tenure, the Jedi Knight Cal Kestis attacked the post and killed many of Rick's colleagues. When the Jedi entered a corridor leading to a turbolift up to the Summit Ridge,[4] the enraged[3] Door Technician confronted Kestis, crying out and charging at the Jedi in the hopes of earning a promotion and commendation if command were watching.[4]
Although Rick believed that killing him would be easy, Kestis slew the Door Technician before continuing on.[4]
Personality and traits[]
During his confrontation with Kestis,[4] Rick believed it was his one moment to shine and was ready to be promoted. He was filled with rage[3] but underestimated Kestis.[4]
Equipment[]
Rick wore white and black scout trooper armor with a black harness. In combat, Rick used an electro riot baton,[4] with which he stood menacingly[3] when he confronted Kestis.[4]
Behind the scenes[]
Rick the Door Technician appeared as an optional[5] boss in the 2023 Respawn Entertainment video game, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.[4] He was voiced by Yuri Lowenthal.[3] Despite having a name and a health bar similar to other bosses, Rick has the same stats as every other scout trooper encountered in the game.[4] It is also possible to avoid killing Rick the Door Technician, skipping the boss fight entirely.[5]
