Rish Loo was a male Gungan minister who served as a member of the Gungan High Council during the Clone Wars. Loo betrayed the Galactic Republic and the council by conspiring with Separatist leader Count Dooku, using his knowledge of Gungan sorcery to influence Boss Lyonie's mind and prompt him to propose a Gungan army attack on the Naboo capital of Theed alongside Separatist forces.^[3]

When Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala discovered the plot and removed the control necklace from Lyonie, the latter confronted Loo, who stabbed the Boss. Loo then fled to the surface to meet with the Gungan army, where he claimed that the Naboo murdered Lyonie to spur them to attack. However, his plan was thwarted by Jar Jar Binks, who posed as Lyonie, due to the uncanny resemblance between the two and the fact that Lyonie was unconscious at the time, and revealed Loo's treachery. Loo fled with Skywalker in pursuit. Loo led Skywalker all the way to Dooku's hideout, where Count Dooku ignited his lightsaber through Loo for his incompetence.^[3]

Personality and traits[]

Rish Loo was an Otolla Gungan male,^[4] minister,^[3] who was 2.07 meters or 6 feet, 9 inches tall,^[5] with green eyes and purple and white skin.^[4] He was a member of the Gungan High Council who was aligned with the Separatists and used sorcery to hypnotize Boss Lyonie into planning an attack on Naboo's capital, Theed. After Jar Jar disguised himself as Lyonie, gaining the support of the Gungans, Loo fled to his laboratory. However, after Skywalker thwarted his plan, Dooku killed him for his failure.^[3]

Skills and abilities[]

Loo was skilled in persuasion,^[5] briefly convincing the Gungans to attack Theed. He was also skilled in hypnosis and Gungan sorcery.^[3] He also knew how to operate a Gungan bongo submarine and a Flitknot Speeder Bike.^[3]

Equipment[]

Rish Loo had a knife which he used to incapacitate Boss Lyonie.^[3]

Behind the scenes[]

Rish Loo first appeared in "Gungan Attack," the second episode of the fourth season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.^[6] In "Shadow Warrior," he was voiced by Corey Burton, who voiced Count Dooku and a Gungan soldier in the same episode.^[3] Rish Loo's name has been noted for its similarity to that of Cardinal Richelieu from The Three Musketeers.^[7]
