Rod was a clone trooper who served in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. At the Battle of Malastare, he served as the gunner for clone trooper pilot Goji, who deployed an electro-proton bomb prototype that was instrumental in the Republic's ensuing victory.[2]
Biography[]
In 21 BBY,[4] Rod participated in the Battle of Malastare, serving as the gunner in Goji's Y-wing bomber. During the battle, he was able to shoot down multiple vulture droids. When Goji dropped the Republic's new electro-proton bomb, it deactivated the droid army, allowing the Republic to win the battle. However, the bomb also awoke the Zillo Beast.[2]
Equipment[]
Rod wore standard Phase I clone pilot armor. It was customized to display two red, winged creatures on either side of his helmet.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
Rod's name is a reference to the Japanese monster Rodan. His armor also depicts Rodan.[3]
