- "Welcome to my world ... So, what do you think of my Romin so far?"
"Amazing! ... Incredible! We're overcome!"
"I am seeing that this is true by your faces! We Romins are so proud of our world that we are not surprised when visitors decide they must live here. On behalf of all Romins, I welcome you!" - ―Romin dictator Roy Teda and Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, in his guise as the con man and "dandy" Roper Slam
Romin was a small Mid Rim planet. It was the homeworld of the Romins.
History[]
Romin was a haven for criminals and villains until the tyrant Roy Teda was deposed by the Jedi in 24 BBY.
Roy Teda divided the impoverished planet into two parts, with the poor being shut out from Eliior, Romin's wealthy capital city, by massive walls. He opened up the banks and borders of the planet to criminals, from whom he accepted bribes for their admittance, to personally enrich himself.
Eventually, Anakin Skywalker along with Ferus Olin, Siri Tachi, and Obi-Wan Kenobi aided the citizens' revolution that overthrew Roy Teda.
They also foiled evil scientist Jenna Zan Arbor's plans after arriving on the planet dressed as the notorious thieves of the recently captured Slam gang.
The planet was also home to the Force-sensitive twins Eldewn and Elsae Sarvool. At age 9, they were orphaned when their parents were killed in an assassination ordered by a local crime lord. Due to their Force-sensitivity, they were scheduled to relocate to Coruscant, but ended up back on Romin when their transport was targeted by the gangster.
