- "Here's the deal. I want you to run fifty cases of Corellian Run MultiMeals to some hard-up bio-dome called Ronion on Mandalore. They've got an incredible food shortage since the Republic cut off trade."
- ―"Mera Mal"
Ronion was a New Mandalorian bio-dome city on the planet Mandalore, located within one of the world's desolate desert regions. Relatively small and isolated, the city of Ronion was hard hit by Duchess Satine Kryze's proclamation that Mandalore would remain a neutral entity in the Clone Wars, suffering a severe food shortage as a result of the Galactic Republic's subsequent decision to reallocate trade elsewhere. As the people of Mandalore became embroiled with the black market in an effort to overcome these difficulties and make ends meet, the mysterious individual known as "Mera Mal" contracted smugglers to deliver much-needed foodstuffs to Ronion.
Description[]
- "It's bad everywhere, but worse there."
- ―"Mera Mal," in reference to Ronion

Like Sundari, Ronion was a New Mandalorian bio-dome city.
The city of Ronion was a small New Mandalorian town, located on the Outer Rim world of Mandalore. Situated in one of the planet's hostile desert regions, Ronion was an isolated settlement, nestled within the protective confines of a bio-dome. The exterior of the city was home to an assortment of shipping docks, with landing pads managed by a dedicated director and customs officials who oversaw the movement of goods in and out of the city.[1]
History[]
Constructed within a protective bio-dome after the devastation that the Mandalorian homeworld incurred, Ronion developed into an isolated example of small-town Mandalore.[1]
Following Duchess Satine Kryze's proclamation in 21 BBY,[2] wherein the New Mandalorian ruler stated Mandalore would remain a neutral entity in the ongoing Clone Wars, trade routes[3] to the Outer Rim world[1] that had been previously funded by the Galactic Republic, were largely severed and re-prioritized elsewhere. Without Republic aid, communities across Mandalore began to suffer from food shortages, leaving many of its inhabitants starving.[3] Ronion was among the worst hit by these shortages.[1] To remedy the dire situation, Prime Minister Almec of the Mandalorian Government Council took it upon himself to establish a black market trade network in secret, in order to get food to those in need.[4]
Amidst these black market deals, a mysterious individual known as "Mera Mal" contacted a group of smugglers, providing them with fifty cases of Corellian Run MultiMeals to be delivered to Ronion. While picking up the packaged food supplies from Warehouse 305, the smugglers were approached by the warehouse manager, Yilon Kres, who offered to sell the group another fifty cases of counterfeit MultiMeals to hide among the rest for an increased profit: though the false goods appeared genuine, they offered little in the way of actual nutrition. Upon reaching their destination, the crew of smugglers were met at the Ronion docks by landing pad manager Iak Wal, who hoped to convince the group to abandon their efforts and take their goods to Sundari instead for the promise of a significantly larger payout.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
