"Rostu Squad, with me!"
―Captain Styles orders the squad to aid him in hunting down Dume[1]

Rostu Squad was a squad of clone troopers which served in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars against the Confederacy of Independent Systems. During the war they were part of a battalion which was deployed to the planet Kaller to fight the Separatists there. The Republic was victorious, but shortly after the battle, the clones received Order 66, a command to execute all Jedi.[1]

Rostu squad and the rest of the battalion attacked Jedi Master Depa Billaba and her Padawan Caleb Dume, who were stationed with them. Billaba was killed holding off the clones while Dume escaped, and Clone Captain Styles ordered the squad to aid him in hunting down the Padawan. Rostu and Styles chased Dume into the nearby woodland, but the Jedi escaped and went into hiding.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The squad first appeared in 2015 in Kanan 2, a comic book written by Greg Weisman and illustrated by Pepe Larraz.[1] Nick Rostu was the name of a character from the Star Wars Legends novel Shatterpoint, which also prominently featured Billaba as a character.[2]

The 2021 television episode "Aftermath," the series premiere of Star Wars: The Bad Batch, depicted a changed version of Billaba's death and Dume's escape which had no mention of Rostu Squad.[3]
