The royal line of the Unbroken Clan was a family that ruled the Unbroken Clan criminal syndicate.[1] Sometime before circa 10 BBY,[2] the line was led by a human male who served as the Grand Leader of the clan on Corellia. He raised his daughter, Krynthia, with the intent of her taking over the clan after him. The Grand Leader also raised Vukorah,[3] who he had rescued from the streets.[1] At some point Krynthia fell in love with Khamus, the heir to the Mourner's Wail Syndicate, the rival of the Unbroken Clan,[4] and around 10 BBY,[2] Krynthia became pregnant. Scared that Khamus would be killed by Krynthia's father if the truth was revealed, the two made plans to escape Corellia. Unbeknownst to Krynthia, however, Khamus planned to kill Krynthia and his unborn baby to prevent his own father from finding out and him losing everything. Khamus hired the crew of the bounty hunter Nakano Lash to infiltrate an Unbroken Clan sanctuary and kill a target, though he did not inform them of the identity of the target. When they reached the target, they learned the truth, and Lash killed Khamus before he could kill Krythnia. Lash then helped the heir of the Unbroken Clan leave. Weeks later Krynthia died in childbirth, but the child, a female named Cadeliah lived. Knowing that when she came of age Cadeliah could end the conflict between the two clans she was the heir of, Lash went into hiding to raise her.[4] With his daughter's death, the Grand Leader locked himself away in the Unbroken Clan Palace to mourn her,[5] leaving Vukorah, now a general, to keep the clan together.[1]

By the time between 3 ABY and 4 ABY,[6] the line had ruled the syndicate for hundreds of generations.[1] Lash came out of hiding as she was dying as a result of pneumogray,[4] and she entrusted her protégé, the bounty hunter Beilert Valance with keeping Cadeliah safe until she became of age to claim her birthright. Vukorah was contacted by Lash, who also attempted to broker a deal with Vukorah for Cadeliah's safety, though the general was not prepared to let Cadeliah ruin all she had built in the clan.[7] Vukorah then placed a bounty on Valance and Cadeliah, either dead or alive, and hired the hunters 4-LOM and Zuckuss for the job. The two were unsuccessful in their attempts and Cadeliah was left by Valance in the care of Yuralla Vega, his former lover, and the Rebel Alliance.[8]

After allying herself with Lady Qi'ra of Crimson Dawn, Vukorah was given the Unbroken Dagger,[9] which had been lost centuries before, and made her way to the Unbroken Clan Palace to speak with the Grand Leader. He told her that because of Krynthia's death years before, the line would end when he died, unaware that he had a granddaughter. The general told the Grand Leader she was unwilling to let that happen, and revealed to him that she had the dagger. When the Grand Leader tried to tell Vukorah the relic was meant to only be held by members of the line, she stabbed him with it, killing him. As the Grand Leader laid dying, Vukorah informed him of Cadeliah's existence, and that his granddaughter would soon join him in death after she was captured by Crimson Dawn. Vukorah then took over the clan, becoming the new Grand Leader.[1] After Cadeliah was captured by Crimson Dawn, she was kept safe by Qi'ra as she believed that with the girl's help, as a result of her being the heir to two of the Unbroken Clan and Mourner's Wail, she could unite the criminal underworld.[10] Eventually Cadeliah's existence, and her place as the rightful heir to the Unbroken Clan began to become known to other members of the clan, who then tried to remove Vukorah from her position. First, Skormarra attempted to kill Vukorah and take the throne until Cadeliah was ready to take it herself, but was unsuccessful and killed by Vukorah.[11] Then sometime later, two members made plans to kill Vukorah and allow Cadeliah to claim the title that had been held by her grandfather.[3]
