The Ruusan Reformations were an event in the history of the Galactic Republic that limited the power of the Supreme Chancellor. The passage of the Emergency Powers Act in the lead-up to the onset of the Clone Wars, as well as the Reflex Amendment to the Galactic Constitution during the conflict, made Sheev Palpatine the most powerful Chancellor since the Reformations.[1]
The Ruusan Reformations shared a name with the Mid Rim planet Ruusan.[2][3]
Behind the scenes[]
The Ruusan Reformations were first mentioned in the canon sourcebook Collapse of the Republic.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Ruusan Reformations was the restructuring of the Galactic Republic after the perceived annihilation of the Sith.[4]
