Rymar Quinn was a Human male who served as a colonel of the reconstituted Sith Empire's Imperial Military during the Great Galactic War with the Galactic Republic. Rymar came from a long line of Imperial officers, and in 3680 BBY—relatively early in Rymar's own life—he had a son he named Malavai.
Rymar's strict instruction in Malavai's childhood inspired his son's rigid bearing and unyielding loyalty to the Empire. Colonel Quinn was killed while serving in the Battle of Rhen Var at some point between 3660 BBY and 3653 BBY, though Malavai followed in his father's footsteps by enlisting in the Imperial Military.
Behind the scenes
Rymar Quinn was mentioned in Malavai Quinn's entry in Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia, a 2012 reference guide. The entry states that Rymar died young at the Battle of Rhen Var, but the placement of the battle in the final quarter of the Great Galactic War on the Encyclopedia's timeline contradicts this, as Malavai was already in his twenties by the time of the battle.

Notes and references
- Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia places the Battle of Rhen Var between the blockade of the Hydian Way and the Sacking of Coruscant, the latter of which it dates to 3653 BBY. The Journal of Master Gnost-Dural indicates that the Blockade of the Hydian Way is broken seven years before the Treaty of Coruscant, which occurs in 3653 BBY as well; thus, the Battle of Rhen Var must fall between 3660 BBY and 3653 BBY.
- Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia
- Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia states that Malavai Quinn was thirty-seven during the events of Star Wars: The Old Republic. Quinn is first encountered by the Sith Warrior class in Act I of the game, which can be placed in 3643 BBY per the reasoning here. Additionally, Star Wars: The Old Republic—Conversation with Malavai Quinn: "Incompetent" places the Battle of Talay before Quinn's birth, and the battle must be part of the Great Galactic War, which begins in 3681 BBY per the Encyclopedia. Thus, Quinn's age of thirty-seven must be relative to his first appearance in Act I in 3643 BBY, as it gives him a birth year of 3680 BBY.
