"SaBBotage" was a mini-comic that was created by Chris Eliopoulos and Jordie Bellaire that accompanied the first issue of the comic series Star Wars: Poe Dameron.

Plot summary[]

At the Resistance base, BB-8 comes up to the Resistance pilot Theo Meltsa, who is watching while the mechanic Peet Deretalia services a T-70 X-wing starfighter. Theo has feelings for Peet, which takes BB-8 notices. With BB-8 beeping in Binary, Peet apologizes and walks away. As Theo climbs aboard his own X-wing, Peet flashes romantically to him.

Seeking to bring them together, BB-8 pulled out a wire, preventing Theo from flying the ship. He manages to fix it back and climbs back aboard his ship. A love-struck Peet watches nearby while the astromech droid R2-KT rolls past. However, BB-8 opens yet another panel, delaying Theo's departure. Theo cries out in frustration. Catching BB-8 in the act, he orders the droid to leave the scene. Undeterred, BB-8 sabotaged the ship's motivator, preventing Theo from leaving. Theo exclaims in frustration about how the Resistance works with junk like this.

BB-8 goes up to Peet. While she does not understand him at first, he leads her towards the exasperated Theo, who complains why there is no tech officer when he needs one. She aciddentally crashes into him and the two brush their faces together lovingly. Theo introduces himself and apologizes. Peet also apologizes that the droid is being difficult.

Theo thinks that BB-8 is sabotaging his ship but Peet reassures him this is not the case. She tells him that the ship's motivator is disengaged. She offers to help him look after his ship and fixes back the motivator. Theo thanks Peet for her help but she replies that it was nothing. Wanting to get to know Theo better, she invites him for a meal; telling him that she knows the chef in the mess hall. Before leaving, she purses her lips towards BB-8.

Star Wars: Galactic Atlas places Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens in 34 ABY and BB-8 joined the Resistance three years prior according to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary. Therefore BB-8 joined the Resistance in 31 ABY and "SaBBotage" takes place some time between these two years.
