Sanandrassa was the Queen of Naboo who preceded Padmé Amidala on the throne. She favoured a policy of isolationism. After she retired as was succeeded by Amidala, Sanandrassa planned to open a school for weavers.
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
Sanandrassa first appeared in 2020 novel Queen's Peril, written by E. K. Johnston. Queen's Peril establishes that Sanandrassa had served as Padmé Amidala's predecessor as Monarch of Naboo. However, the Star Wars Character Encyclopedia: Updated and Expanded had previously named King Veruna as Amidala's predecessor.

- "A Certain Point of View"—Star Wars Insider 200 states that Sanandrassa served a two year reign as Monarch of Naboo which ended thirty-two years before the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. As Star Wars: Galactic Atlas states that A New Hope begins in 0 BBY, Sanandrassa's reign must have lasted from 34 BBY to 32 BBY. As Queen's Peril states that Réillata served as queen for a single term before Sanandrassa, she must have reigned from 36 BBY to 34 BBY.
