Sanandrassa was the Queen of Naboo who preceded Padmé Amidala on the throne. She favoured a policy of isolationism. After her election defeat by Amidala, Sanandrassa planned to open a school for weavers.
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
Sanandrassa first appeared in 2020 novel Queen's Peril, written by E. K. Johnston. Queen's Peril establishes that Sanandrassa had served as Padmé Amidala's predecessor as Monarch of Naboo. However, the Star Wars Character Encyclopedia: Updated and Expanded had previously named King Veruna as Amidala's predecessor.

- Star Wars Character Encyclopedia: Updated and Expanded
- Queen's Peril states that Réillata had retired after a single term as Monarch of Naboo before Sanandrassa, who also served a single term before Padmé Amidala. As Queen's Peril takes place shortly before the Invasion of Naboo, which Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates to 32 BBY, it can be deduced that Réillata served as queen from 36 BBY to 34 BBY, and that Sanandrassa served as queen from 34 BBY to 32 BBY.
