"Be careful. Them ranchers aren't the nicest people in the galaxy. But then again, neither are we! HA HA! Now, scram!"
―The Pirate Leader, to a spacer[src]

The sand slum pirates were a group of pirates active on Tatooine during the Galactic Civil War.[1]

History[edit | edit source]

"Little skeptical, eh? I guess I don't blame you. After all, we are pirates! Har, Har! Oh--the task, right. Some of our boys were looting a rancher's house when he walked in. He and his wife are holding our boys captive. We want you to go and help them escape."
―The Pirate Leader, to a spacer[src]

After the Battle of Yavin, the pirates harassed a couple of farmers, Roric and Helen Goldenfield, who inhabited a ranch near their base.[1] Circa 1 ABY,[2] Roric Goldenfield managed to capture some of them while they were looting the ranch and hold them captive in the house. In the meantime, an adventurer attacked the pirates in their base. Nevertheless, the spacer spared the pirate leader's life after he surrendered. The pirate leader tasked the spacer to head to the ranch and free the captive pirates. However, the spacer instead helped Helen Goldenfield to prevent the pirates to escape while her husband was contacting Imperial authorities.[1]
