"Sandcastles with Grogu" is a non-canon animated LEGO short released on August 5, 2022 on the LEGO YouTube channel. It is part of both LEGO Star Wars Summer Shorts[1] and LEGO STAR WARS: Celebrate the Season.[2]

Official description[]

Grogu's attempts to build sandcastles pushes he and the Mandalorian to the limit![3]

Plot summary[]

The episode opens with Grogu attempting to build a sand structure of his adoptive father Din Djarin's starship Razor Crest. However, it collapses into the sand. Grogu is visibly frustrated. Nearby, Djarin is having an icy drink under a shade sail. Grogu uses the Force to levitate Djarin's icy drink and uses it to strengthen a sand structure made in the likeness of an astromech droid.

Later, two Jawas steal Djarin's table. Djarin brings Grogu a pail of water, which the youngling pours onto the sand. He then uses his Force powers to mix the water and sand into a beach lounger for Djarin. While Jawas scurry, Grogu uses a stormtrooper helmet to form a sand structure of a stormtrooper helmet, which he smashes. Grogu also uses his Force powers to build sand sculptures of Djarin and the Razor Crest.

Djarin is impressed and touches the life-size structure of himself. However, it crumbles. An annoyed Grogu uses the Force to collapse the sand structure of the Razor Crest. A beetle approaches the trapped Djarin but Grogu levitates it with the Force and eats the creature.
