"Been awhile since you've been on Tatooine with your old partner Saponza."
―Saponza, to his partner[src]

The mercenary Saponza had a partner with whom he ran a gang with. The two established a base in the former's old homestead on Tatooine. After finding what would happen if one angered Jabba the Hutt; the major crime lord of the planet, the two mercenaries were forced to pick a side between the Galactic Empire or the Alliance to Restore the Republic,[2] eventually choosing the Alliance.[1]

Once aligned, the gang performed various missions for the Alliance forces, growing to become a full-fledged rebel cell under the overall command of Colonel Jennica Pierce. Saponza rose to a leadership position, and his partner eventually achieved the military rank of commander. They and their forces participated in several conflicts, including the Battle for Tatooine, the Dandoran Campaign, the Undead Troopers invasion, the operations on Yavin 4, and other conflicts.[2]

  1. 1.0 1.1 StarWars-DatabankII.png Kekit in the Databank (backup link) establishes that Saponza and his partner played an integral part in the campaign that liberated Kekit's clan from Tusken Raiders. It also states that the plan was orchestrated by Colonel Jennica Pierce of the Alliance to Restore the Republic. This scenario does not occur if the player aligns with the Galactic Empire, so it can be deduced the Rebel Alliance story mode is the canon version of events.
